Circles All Around Us

Help children discover that circles really are everywhere!

Circles All Around Us is a visual resource designed to support children in recognising circles and noticing them in the world around them. The resource features a collection of familiar objects and images with a clear circular shape, providing opportunities for children to identify, name and talk about circles.

Use the resource to:

• Introduce or reinforce the shape circle.
• Develop shape recognition and mathematical vocabulary.
• Encourage children to spot circles in their environment.
• Support conversations about the features of a circle.
• Inspire children to find and photograph, draw or collect their own examples of circles.

The resource works well for adult-led maths sessions, small-group activities, shape hunts, classroom displays and continuous provision.

A simple, visual way to help children see circles everywhere!
